We Respond to Community Requests
For over 2 decades we have been responding to community requests by sending teams to the north. We only visit communities who invite us.
On Eagle’s Wings was founded in 1999 by pastor and aviator, Rev Lee Berry, pictured on the left.
In 2000, a Piper Aztec twin engine aircraft was donated to facilitate the ministry that was being offered in remote communities. This was also the year that On Eagle’s Wings was officially incorporated in both Canada and the United States.
By 2002 the charity was continuing to grow thanks to the support of generous donors and volunteers. AnnE Zimmerman joined the staff as Director of Ministry.
Another staff member was added in 2005. Rev Lesley Hand became Pastor of Northern Alberta and Saskatchewan, further expanding the ministry area served.
That same year, a second twin engine aircraft (pictured below) was donated to the ministry.
In 2008 AnnE Zimmerman became Executive Director and continued to develop strong community relationships throughout the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
In 2014, Rev Lesley Hand was appointed as Executive Director and the ministry continued to flourish.
In 2021 Robin Abrol joined the staff team as Director of Ministry. Upon Rev. Lesley’s retirement in September 2023, Robin became our new Executive Director.
